This was a nice arrangement.
During the march, the focus was on ending the war. Afterwards, we
had tents and tables for all kinds of other causes. On Colbert's "
roast" of Bush
(That Bush
clearly
didn't like), it's funny about the major media not carrying it as they
had no problem carrying the "
jokes"
about Bush and aides searching for the missing WMD under chairs and
tables in the White House.
One pictured Mr Bush looking under a
piece of furniture
in the Oval Office, at which the president remarked: "Those weapons of
mass destruction have got to be here somewhere."
After another one, showing him scouring
the corner of a room, Mr Bush said: "No, no
weapons over there," he said.
And as a third picture, this time showing
him leaning
over, appeared on the screen the president was heard to say: "Maybe
under here?"
The audience at Wednesday's 60th annual
dinner of the Radio and Television
Correspondents' Association obviously thought the quips hilarious -
there were laughs all round
Belly dancers! All kinds of shapes
and sizes and ages dressed with a fair degree of similarity and all of
whom were reasonably competent with their dancing.
Jane Hamsher of
firedoglake
does a hilarious round-up of stupid comments by Howard Kurtz, the
conservative Washington Post media critic (Dan Froomkin is
the
liberal one) in response to his lament that one just can't seem to
find good writing on the left side of the blogosphere.
The "Raging Grannies" sung some
marvelously snarky songs.
Recently, a right-winger mentioned in the comments area of a blog that
he still hadn't forgiven Markos of DailyKos for his harsh comments
about the four mercenaries who were torn apart near Falluja.
Well,
there
might be a reason as to why mercenaries are not regarded in the
best light.
And finally, some protesters chillin'
and relaxin'. A good day was had by all!
