I would like to connect with other Iranian people who need our individual support through Facebook, etc.. It would be terrific to know how they really feel. What Twitter sites do you recommend?

Currently there is not much one can do to directly support the demonstrators. However, there is a lot we can do indirectly to support them and advance their struggle.

1. See this page for what you can do in terms of the cyber war:

If you are knowledgeable on proxies that would be incredibly helpful, as Iranians are constantly needing new proxies as the government identifies and shuts down existing ones. Otherwise, there are other things you can find on that list to do.

2. Promote the following article:
http://riseoftheiranianpeople.com/2009/06/17/fake-iran-election-tweeters/

The more people know which Twitter accounts are unreliable, the more accurate the information is that is spread.

3. If you are bilingual with ANY language and English, then start translating! Primarily obviously is Farsi-English translations, but translations from other languages would be greatly appreciated as well. There is information going through various foreign-language media outlets that is being missed by the English-only crowd because of it.

Also, help us translate some of our articles and statements into different languages. The more that everything is translated, the further it can be spread.

4. If you have any contacts with Iranians or Iranian exiles then send us (or anyone else) reports on what they are saying is happening. We do NOT want ANY information that could compromise ANYBODY, so if you are going to send something to us (OR ANYONE) then MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PERSONAL INFORMATION OR INFO THAT COULD BE USED TO IDENTIFY ANYONE. Assume that any information you report will be sent straight to the Iranian government, and take ZERO risks.

If you would like to send us reports from friends or family in Iran but are apprehensive for this reason, then do NOT tell us anything more than we need to. "A friend" or "a source" will suffice.

5. Advertise our website far and wide, as well as all others that are working hard to put out accurate information as fast as possible (Nico Pitney's blog and Revolutionary Road blog are two that should be promoted as well). Our goal is to have our website be the most comprehensive in terms of news, media and reports, so that one can simply go to one place to retrieve all crucial information without having to hunt through tons of websites and sift through conflicting Twitter and news reports for hours to find out the truth (that's our job :P).

6. If you find any more sources or Twitter accounts that are reliable then send them to us. The more sources that we have the more accurate and up to date our site can be, and thus the more accurate and up to date everyone is.

7. Send us information! If you have a news report/photos/videos that we have not yet uploaded then email them to us. We try to get everything up on the site, but we can only put so much effort into it ourselves and thus we are bound to miss some things. You can email us information at:
